This lecture video explains the pins and wiring in Ethernet patch cables and RJ45 modular plugs. We also discuss the use and importance of color codes, the sequence the colored wires must be in when you terminate Ethernet cable. There are two color codes used in Ethernet cable termination: T568A and T568B. We show diagrams for both types and discuss where they are used. We also explain the difference between a straight-through cable, a crossover cable, and a rollover cable and when to use each type.
